Richard Moore

Friends,

I've got a few items to share with you.

---

First, permit to remind you of the newslog list, whose
archives are at:
    http://cyberjournal.org/cj/show_archives/?lists=newslog

Newslog receives all the postings that go to cj & rn, and I
publish other things there as well, sometimes several items in
one day. About 50 people have subscribed to that list, but my
primary intention is that it be available for browsing. You might
want to put the link in your "Favorites". Here are some recent
items:

16 Apr - Naomi Klein: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism
16 Apr - Ruppert on the end of oil
17 Apr - BOB MOSER: THE DOMINIONISTS / FAR RIGHT THREAT TO U.S.
20 Apr - Do banks have the right to loan money?
21 Apr - Mark Robinowitz: "God's Rottweiler" chosen as new Pope
21 Apr - William Bowles: The Lesser of Two Evils
23 Apr - DU - The truth is emerging
    24 Apr - 2 good films available re: 9/11 ; capitalism

---

You may recall a posting about a week ago, "Tonight: C-Span To
Cover 911". It turns out that didn't happen. I think there was
a confusion because of two different people named "Griffin".
Sorry.

---

Polishing continues on the book. I'm still receiving editing
feedback from a few of you. Some have requested review copies,
but have not responded yet (hint!).

Money continues to be scarce. Donations always welcome,
including via PayPal, to: •••@••.•••.

Dear Richard,

I wanted to drop a line and say hello.

Roughly three years ago I came across your website and read
your wonderful article on Escaping the Matrix. It was a
turning point for me, because your article pulled together a
number of loose ends on what was really going on behind the
scenes. The logic of Escaping the Matrix became a template in
which I could interpret that manufactured events in our world.
I never expected how deep the rabbit hole really went.

Belatedly, I must say thanks for your website and the doors
that it opened for me.

Please place me on your mailing list.

Cheers,

J

----------

Hi J,

I've gotten about a hundred responses to that article similar
to yours. I hope my book has comparable success.

I've subscribed you.

thanks for your message,

I have requested to be unsubscribed. Please do so.

-------

I get these "suicide notes" from time to time. No reasons
given, other than a reference to the posting that was
considered offensive. It's like someone leaving the room and
slamming the door behind them. If they didn't want to slam
the door, they would have simply unsubscribed.

You can't please everyone, but I'd rather the note included
an explicit complaint.

HI richard

http://dmedia.ucsc.edu/~afrojas/TU to see some footage
thaT my friend marty took and has already edited
together.

Dear bodhi,

Thanks for responding. I've subscribed you to our low-traffic
cj list. (It's easy to unsubscribe.)

Good luck at your meeting. You might also want to talk to the
ACLU.

As regards TUSC, here's a suggestion. If the suppression on
campus persists, see if you can find someone who will give
you permission to use their property for the classes. There's
more than one way to skin a cat, and in the current fascist
climate, confrontation may not always be the best strategy.

Please keep us informed!

Richard,

This news deserves to be widely distributed. That video must
be edited and prepared for distribution. Has Indy Media been
contacted?

When campus police start abusing the people they are supposed
to protect, it becomes clear how far our society has decayed
toward fascism and enforced regimentation and conformity.

Tom

--------

Hi Tom,

Note the indymedia link above.

In the Matrix, the police are supposed to protect us. In reality,
they are supposed to protect the corporate elite from us, and
they do a pretty good job of that.

OMG, first Kent State, now Tent State...

In an earlier missive, someone was wondering why there is not
a greater rebellion in the United States.

I want to say that having been to Chicago, IL and Washington,
D.C., as well as local rallies, such as in front of Dennis
Hastert in Batavia, IL, there is plenty of dissent. You would
never know it however, by the lack of news coverage.

Thanks for sharing this info. However, your description below
of the FSM minimizes it and is misleading. It wasn't a "few"
students who occupied the admin building, but rather hundreds
of students following the famous speech by Mario Savio.
There's a lot of info on the UC Berkeley web site and, if you
haven't already, check our the great documentary called
Berkeley in the Sixties.---Dan

rkm> The scenario is reminiscent of how the Free Speech
Movement began at Berkeley in the sixties. In that case, a few
radical students had occupied the administration building,
without widespread support from the rest of the students.

---

Dan,

Thanks for the correction!

I hadn't realized Mario's speech preceded the very first
sit-in. But still, "hundreds" can still be considered "few" on
a campus of 50,000. Isn't it true that the police response to
the sit-in led to a much more massive constituency for FSM??

cheers,
