Friends, Before I share the comments you have sent in recently, let me give the URL of the best-produced 911 video I've seen so far - http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8260059923762628848 (by Loose Change). It's an hour and a half long, as a Google video, with no pause button. You can also download it, which I'm doing at the moment. The download monitor says "229 MB of ?" and is still running. best regards, rkm -------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 3 Mar 2006 20:26:38 -0800 (PST) From: jackson davis Subject: Re: re blog: cyberjournal forum * how to register * To: •••@••.••• rkm> First you go to: http://www.blogger.com/ Jackson: It takes me to: http://www.blogger.com/start rkm> Then you hit the link at the lower right: "sign up here" Jackson: There is no link at the lower right that says "sign up here." ---- Jackson, Sorry for the confusion. When you click on http://www.blogger.com/, it will take you to http://www.blogger.com/start if you are a new user, and to http://www.blogger.com/home if you are already registered. You went to the right place. You're right, it doesn't say "sign up here", it says "Create Your Blog Now", which is a very confusing message in our case. It SHOULD have said, "sign up here". If you go to this URL (http://www.quaylargo.com/help//blogspot.help.html) you will be treated to a step-by-step guide showing you how to register, with screen shots, live links, etc. If you use that page, you'll end up being registered, I guarantee it.;-) This guide is available on our blog's main page (http://cyberjournal-rkm.blogspot.com/) via the link, "How to register with Blogger" When I started these blogs I didn't anticipate that one of the major problems would be people's difficulty with the blogging system itself. The Blogger system is actually very well done, and mostly easy to use, but it does have some glaring gaps in its user interface. They are assuming that new users want to start a blog, and their interface works OK for that. They fail to realize some new users don't want to create a blog, but do want to register. Such users are left out in the cold. My tutorial is meant to remedy that gap. Once you get through that, you should have pretty smooth sailing. rkm -------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat, 4 Mar 2006 12:30:39 -0800 (PST) From: natalie omara Subject: Re: re blog: cyberjournal forum * how to register * To: •••@••.••• OK I just did register successfully. Now how do I get back to URLnatomara711 to give more particulars? --------- Natalie, Again, this is a gap in their user interface model. In my registration tutorial, I explain how to go back and fill in your profile. In fact, you only need to click on the orange Blogger logo at the left top of Blogger page. It looks like this: http://cyberjournal.org/images/blogs/blogger.jpg. rkm -------------------------------------------------------- Date: Fri, 10 Mar 2006 10:33:52 -0800 (PST) From: Diana Skipworth Subject: Re: cyberjournal dialog forum: early threads... To: •••@••.••• Dear Richard, It is exciting to read such intelligent writing. What a break from the media tripe we are constantly fed. (Did you see the US ports deal will not happen after all.) Since you are originally from Los Angeles, and this city was the very first to suffer the loss of their transportation of electric trains due to the collusion of the oil companies, car mfg and tire mfg. And furthermore, since the people of Los Angeles sued these participants for antitrust violation and WON-- awarded a measley $1 by the corrupt court system. Because the Texas-oil millionaire has told the World "we are addicted to oil," when in reality this collusion of eliminating "rival transportation" was all designed to paint the American public into this particular corner, I think to blame the public is in error. What I wish to do is put the cities and their lost electric train transportation on the map of public awareness. There have been at least 10 cities where the citizens have had complete electric train service, only to have it sold and dismantled by the oil companies. I would like to see each city's system on the Internet, along with a map and explanation of who purchased it, and why they tore it down. Diana ------ Hi Diana, When I was a kid in Venice (part of LA), the red cars passed near my apartment. They were the size and speed of trains more than street cars. Removing them was a heinous theft of the commons. rkm -------------------------------------------------------- From: Joe Clark <•••@••.•••> Subject: Re: Harmonization: Unlikely Alliance Takes on School Conflict Date: Fri, 10 Mar 2006 12:37:55 -0500 To: Richard Moore <•••@••.•••> WOW.
