How the BBC betrayed the NHS: an exclusive report on two years of censorship and distortion By Oliver Huitson

Posted: 05 Oct 2012 10:15 AM PDT

In the two years building up to the government’s NHS reform bill, the BBC appears to have categorically failed to uphold its remit of impartiality, parroting government spin as uncontested fact, whilst reporting only a narrow, shallow view of opposition to the bill. In addition, key news appears to have been censored. The following in-depth investigation provides a shocking testimony of the extent to which the BBC abandoned the NHS.

THE BBC’S COVERAGE OF THE HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE ACT By James

Posted: 05 Oct 2012 10:10 AM PDT

This 8,000 word report uses rigorous research methods and detailed analysis to confirm what many have claimed: that the BBC has failed in its responsibilities to inform the British public about one of the most important pieces of legislation of the 21st century.

Can Syria Avoid the Fate of Libya and Iraq? Interview with Issa Chaer by Carlos Martinez

Posted: 05 Oct 2012 09:57 AM PDT

Issa Chaer: The false nature of much of the reporting on Syria was confirmed by personal experience following our visits to Syria. The visits proved the lies that were being reported, and we came to conclusion that those media stations are creating their own news rather than actually reporting, and we saw that they are part of a bigger plot targeting Syria.

On October 2nd a retired demographer at the World Bank admitted that vaccination campaigns are an integral part of the World Bank’s population policies. John F. May, the Bank’s leading demographer from 1992 to 2012, told the French web journal Sens Public (and in turn transcribed by the think-tank May works for) that vaccination campaigns, especially in so-called “high-fertility countries”, are means to achieve population reduction in those countries.

In a bid to speed up their time tables for Spring 2013, the West and their proxy Turkey are now baiting Syria into a wider regional conflict. Turkey’s parliament has authorized cross-border military operations into Syria ‘when necessary’ following a casual mortar-shelling incident on the Turkish-Syrian border.

Spanish State 25S: The Salvaging of Democracy By Esther Vivas

Posted: 05 Oct 2012 05:50 AM PDT

“They call it democracy but this isn’t one” was the cry repeated in the squares and on the demonstrations. And as time went by, this slogan took on still more meaning. The stigmatization and repression against those who struggle in the street for their rights has only intensified in recent times. The worse the crisis gets, the more popular support broadens for those who protest and the more the brutal repression increases. The thirst for liberty is being smothered along with the current “democracy.”

Adding another hostile move to its long list of provocations against Iran, the U.S. government removed the terrorist organization Mujahedin-e-Khalq Organization (MKO) from its list of foreign terrorist organizations in late September. For Kourosh Ziabari, this decision shows America’s “unconditional support to the sworn enemies of the Iranian nation straight from the shoulder.”

Posted: 05 Oct 2012 05:31 AM PDT

Knowledge in modern societies has expanded to the point whereby specialisms and sub-specialisms are the norm. It is just not possible for one person to have in-depth knowledge of every discipline. We must rely on others to convey such knowledge, usually in relatively simplistic terms. Most of us have to take at face value many of the ideas and concepts that we are bombarded with in this age of instant, mass communications and information overload.
