Syria and Russia to bolster bilateral relations

Damascus, Sep 8: Syria and Federal Russia on Thursday underlined the need to
bolster bilateral relations in all spheres and "to seize peace opportunity in
the region".

President Bashar al-Assad after his meeting with Russia's Foreign Minister
Sergey Lavrov said, "talks underlined the significance of working as to seize
peace opportunity, if it exits, and Russia's role to attain security and
stability in the region." "Russia is keen on working with Syria towards a
comprehensive settlement of Arab-Israeli struggle", said Lavrov.

The two leaders also discussed the situation in Lebanon and the urgency of
Israel adhering to UNSC resolution 1701 to withdraw from southern Lebanon.
