Seasons greetings and thank you for your years-end report. I think
its the best synopsis I've seen so far. I agree that a Great
Awakening needs to emerge in the west. I have been extolling since
about 1980 (with very little success) the idea of a bloodless
de-imperialization that begins with an authentic democratization of
the media. A popular movement of freeing the press, as accorded by
the first amendment, could derail the 1927 FCC act that gave
corporations privileged access and control of the nations media. When
the people get access to the press, the truth gets out. The genie
comes out of the bottle and the transformation begins; witness
Venezuela. More than one founding father of the US Constitution
warned that a free press was a precondition for democracy; thus came
the impetus for the first amendment. Why don't we respond to their
wisdom and make it happen.

Hi Bo,
I suppose you are thinking in terms of seeing 'real information' on
TV and mainstream newspapers. That could only happen after a major
and successful confrontation with the powers that be. How can we do
that, while the media is still under their control? It seems to me
that if we find away to have such a success, we should have a broader
agenda than just the media.
I would also note that the Internet serves as an ideal 'free press',
accessible on everyone's desktop. In what ways does this not provide
the democratization of media that you seek?

There is a small town in Ecuador - the name escapes me now, but I
will try to dig it up - where the indigenous people use computers to
directly run the town. All town business is on the computers for the
citizens to access and participate in. The town has support from
European govs who support direct democracy and from Cuba. And the
town is pretty wealthy.

I wonder why you are so pessimistic about 'people in general'. I've
seen many reports of polls, for example, where a large majority of
'ordinary people' want strong environmental controls and limits on
corporate power. Those sentiments do not find voice in the current
political system, but that is not the fault of 'people in general'.

anyone being a looser, consensus through much dialogue was the way.

decade ! -- and being a perceived friend in this my "lifetime
experience" on this "plane" !!
`It is a joy, a pleasure, a deeply satisfying experience to 'sit back
and read' your lines. Rather like listening to a favourite opera
singer ( like Kiri Te Kanawa, in my case ).
What you report and describe here, in your usual simple clear and
straightforward English, 'resonates' entirely with the way I've
perceived myself/everything for pretty much as long as I can remember
'thinking/feeling' about such things - and that's quite a while in my
case.
A friend gave me the 'complete' text of the Course in Miracles
recently, and I've been reading through it - a bit at a time, as I
have energy for it. I've know about it for 25 years or more, skimmed
through it before and always had extra respect for it - despite it's,
for me, excessively convoluted English, 'Christian' bias, etc., etc.
- because of its use by Marianne Williamson whom I admire,
respect and appreciate greatly. The reason I mention that
'channelled' work, is that it has the same basis or bias or
fundamental worldview as the theses of the authors you are writing
about here. It seems to me that Helen Schucman, in this case,
'received' this info from the a-field and 'channelled' it on - in the
language and tradition that she was raised in and used to.
My own simple - simplistic - way of expressing it has always been like this:
I/we are 'living' a 'dream'. At a 'deeper level' it's an 'illusion' -
but while we're 'here', that 'dream' is very real to and for us. It
constitutes our basic 'reality' and has 'rules' in it which
operate very 'concretely' - and can't just be avoided, evaded, or
dismissed because we 'don't like them'. Our 'dream' in this 'life'
is governed by the 'three physical dimensions' and 'time' which have
the rules of 'cause and effect'. It's in cinemascope and technicolour
- for great 'entertainment' value ! That's it. Enjoy the show, and be
ready to report back when you come home at the end of the outing.
It also recalls to mind, for me, Sri Aurobindo whose view was that
the infinite, eternal, omnipotent and unchanging 'god' or 'source of
all being' just got tired and bored with 'nothing happening' - and so
split into uncountable if not 'infinite' parts in order to 'have
experiences'. That then also meant that 'it' would have 'all
possible' experiences - not just nice, pleasant, or 'good' ones'.
Hence the universe and everything in it as we 'find' it. ( 'We' -
welcome everyone, as Daring Donna would say - in fact create/d all
that's here! And we can co-create and re-create it differently, in
other ways, if 'we' so choose. )

Yes, that seems to sum up the human experience, at least at one
level. It raises the question, however, as to what enlightenment is
about. Why do some people, often considered the wisest among us, seek
to escape from the illusion? What is the purpose of this yearning to
reunite with our source? If we're here to watch the DVD, then why do
we have a bee in our bonnet distracting us with 'higher things'? Why
go on holiday and then worry about whether we should have stayed home?
I'm drawn here to the alleged words of Jesus, when he talked about
wanting to create the kingdom of heaven on earth. What did he mean by
that, if he said it, and assuming he was a sage? Certainly he was not
talking about any return to an earthly throne by a wrathful Jehovah!
More likely he was talking about achieving social harmony on the
earthly plane. That would suggest that there is a long-range purpose
to creation, something that the conscious universe wants to see
happen, but does not want to, or cannot, create by fiat.
This dovetails with a classic question in theology, why are we free
to sin? If we consider these two points together, I am led to a
certain hypothesis. I'll start by suggesting that the conscious
universe is conducting an experiment, wherein it is imbuing
limited-consciousness beings with increasing power (myth of
Prometheus), to see if they can learn to achieve both power and
harmony. The industrial revolution (or nuclear technology, or
biotechnology, or fire), one might say, is a 'test sent by God'.
On the other hand, it may not be an experiment but rather an
evolutionary endeavor. That is, the conscious universe intends to
succeed at creating a harmonious earthly society of semi-conscious,
power-imbued beings, and it continues the process of evolution in
order to 'get it right' eventually. Humans are simply the best effort
so far.
The achievement of a harmonious society turns out to be my own
political agenda, arrived at by entirely different considerations.
The primary objective in such an endeavor has to do with enabling
people to realize their inherent brotherhood. There is no reason
whatsoever that we need to be at each other's throats, apart from the
constraints placed on us by our political systems, which have come
into existence by virtue of the ability of 'the few' to monopolize
power, which has been enabled by technology (Prometheus again).
Our challenge, as semi-conscious beings sent here for a purpose, is
to overcome divide-and-rule and find our common humanity. Can we do
it? I'm not sure, it seems to be an open question. Conditioning runs
deep.
There are people who talk about Indigo children, and an impending
'next stage' in human evolution. I've dismissed such sentiments out
of hand, based on the presumed timeframe of genetic adaptations. But
with Lazlo's observations on evolution, some reconsideration here may
be in order. If there is a mechanism for rapid genetic adaptations in
times of survival stress, as experiments suggest, this would seem be
the right time in history for it to come into play.

Wonderful, wonderful!!
And here I thought I would go to my grave without Science aiding our
understanding the Purpose of Life. So exciting to hold hands with
Science.
For myself, I met a Power source when I was a young girl about seven.
In those days they did not have DCFS or telephone 9-11 to aid those
in violent dysfunctional households like my own. Ours was a
poisonous place, filled with negative emotions heightened by abuse
and neglect.
In those days, (early 1960's) my older sister would take me to the
Addison Bible Church with her on Sundays. I remember sitting in the
basement of the church, the backs of my legs cold from the steel
folding chair, my feet dangling down. Remember the shine of the
linoleum tile. The Sunday School teacher was reading passages from
Proverbs, when these words pierced my troubled mind and engraved
themselves upon my heart: "If any of you lack Wisdom, let him ask of
God."
So my heart opened, and mentally I said, "Yes, please, God, give me
Wisdom to deal with my troubles." And, ever since that time, I know
I have had an extra-awareness. This awareness has not prevented me
from encountering more abuse or pain; however, I made it to adulthood
as a whole person. Today I am married for 21 years and have 2 Indigo
children who are happy and well adjusted. Occasionally I receive
amazing insights that are difficult to put into words, even to this
day. People have gasped at some of the things that seem to "just
come out of my mouth" at the right moment. Some think I am crazy.
In my opinion, Human Beings are a hybrid of Lower Human Nature and
Spiritual Being. The problem is, we are raised as though the body is
"who we are" instead of Spirit. The Power I hooked-up with on that
Sunday morning, I believe, is the Spiritual Being that expresses
itself in this life situation as Diana Skipworth.
A man named Eckhart Tolle has written books about "The Power of Now,"
which are deep and totally impossible for many people to understand.
But he's got it right, in my opinion.
Another Scientist making people scratch their heads is Masaru Emoto.
He has captured the crystallization of water under different
emotional suggestions. There are now several different books after
"The Hidden Messages in Water." Wonderful pictures!
Because the World has seemed to devolve over past decades and spiral
downwards, I had not dared to hope to live to see the day when
Humankind becomes enlightened. To me, this enlightenment is
expressed in the Masonic symbol, the Reverse Seal of the United
States of America. (Pyramid with the all-seeing-eye) What a day that
would be.
P.S. This Reverse Seal of the United States has never been cast;
only the Obverse Seal of the United States has been. The U.S.
Constitution requires both. This is the physical manifestation of
the spiritual lack of our country, (my opinion). See also: "The

Thanks for your personal-testimony contribution, and your references.
You mention prayer, and that is one of the things talked about in
the Akashic Field book. In a controlled experiment, a group of
patients who were being prayed for recovered from their maladies more
quickly that the others - and the patients didn't know which ones
were being prayed for.
I found the Power of Now to be very powerful at making concepts
'real' that I had already 'understood' at a thinking level. It was
for me somewhat of a life changing experience.
I'm now in the process of reading "Women Who Run with the Wolves".
She talks about how the soul gets suppressed by life choices, and how
it can be recovered. A really great book with lots of primordial
stories presented and analyzed re/their psychological wisdom. The
book is not just for women.
Can you say more about the nature of Indigo children, and how you
know you have some. :-)

Most interesting, Richard. This may be related deeply to the core of
our contemporary crisis of crises; yet, it is difficult to devote
time to such speculations. I am now reading PARAPSYCHOLOGY,
PHILOSOPHY AND SPIRITUALITY: A Postmodern Exploration by David Ray
Griffin (of 9/11 reknown). He argues well the same points as Lazlo
and Pearson. Although educated as a physicist I still find too my
physics in Lazlo and Pearson. I ( and Griffin) believe
"consciousness" and "creativity" are as fundamental as matter and
energy, not derivative from physicalism -- which does not preclude,
in the spirit of complementarity, mechanistic models for how
consciousness and creativity map on physical processes. Long ago I
decided that the key to this issue may be our obsession with
one-dimensional time.
Mechanisms are temporally one-dimensional, organisms require
"temporal texture". In analogy with Sheldrake's morphogenetic field,
I propose "feedpast bootstrapping" where "info" can sometimes flow
back (and forward) in 1D time). All this verbage is extreme
metaphor. BUT, ALSO - consciousness - the realm of experientials -
is not all that important as research now demonstrates that they
follow brain actions -- BUT, this just pushes the domain of MIND
beyond simple consciousness AND brain processes.
At the same time I remain humble in accepting my intrinsic
incompetence to fully comprehend these issues. I seek no answers and
refuse to consider answers of others. We are not yet ready for
answers. But, I encourage ongoing querying.

Hi Richard,
I find your "book report" of Laszlo and Pearson's work very
unprejudiced and well thought out. I've always considered the
universe to be a great thought. I suppose that would indicate the
creator is a very large consciousness! Just a hunch with no evidence
of course, but it seems supported by Laszlo' and Pearson's work.
You might find the following books worth reading:
Roger Lewin's MAKING WAVES. Lewin has written about early man and
evolution with Richard Leakey, but is probably best known for his
COMPLEXITY: LIFE AT THE EDGE OF CHAOS. MAKING WAVES looks at the
SuperWave theory of a colorful figure, Dr. Irving Dardik, a man who
loves sports as much as medicine (he was an Olympic team doctor and a
notable runner). If nothing else Dardik dares to think beyond the
box. He even lost his medical license for his free thinking ways.
The Superwave theory might somehow fit with the a-field theory in
showing how everything is connected and how waves can lead to
healing. Though not a long book, it is full of new ideas and is fun
and easy to read.
The second book, Henri Bortoft's THE WHOLENESS OF NATURE, I think of
more as a "way" in Eastern terms, sort of a path of learning by
doing. I often have to read it in small doses and try it on for size
before the new way of perceiving clicks. Bortoft studied under
physicist David Bohm and many of Bohm's ideas shine through this
work. Much of the work is inspired by the brilliant German writer
and thinker, J. W. Goethe, in particular his way of looking at
nature as a whole rather than in parts. In school I remember feeling
something was missing when we studied biological organisms as a
series of disconnected parts. Well, this book has brought many of
the parts back together for me. I would say that here we have a
picture of community and interconnectedness which we need to be
thinking about if we want meaning and peace in our world.
