Gnosticism is the “perennial philosophy” that underlies and unites all spiritual teachings, including esoteric Judaism and Christianity, Hinduism, Taoism, Yoga, Buddhism, Tantrism, Sufism, and the ancient teachings of Tibet, Egypt, and the Americas.

In Roanoke, the Gnostic teachings are being offered by Richard “Rick” Cook, meditation practitioner since the age of 23. Rick is also an ordained minister with the Sanctuary of the Beloved and Order of Melchizedek. He is author of three books and has a fourth that will soon be published: Return of the Aeons: The Planetary Spiritual Ascension. Scheduled release date is December 21, 2012.

From this platform, students have embarked on a year-long study of the Gnostic teachings during 2012-2013 based on monthly seminars at the Lifestream Center in Grandin Village. The November 17 seminar will be on: “Life, Death, Reincarnation and Recurrence.”

The seminar will focus on the most important questions a human being can possibly ask: Why am I here? Where did I come from? What is the path by which I am traveling? Where am I headed? And who am I really? It is safe to say that the organized religions provide few satisfying answers to these questions, as much of what they say is little more than children’s fairy tales. However, the esoteric teachings of Gnosticism offer a great deal of material that is well worth studying and pondering.
