Subject: Stopping the War on Freedom!

Dear friends and activists,

Forgive me if this is redundant- I can't keep up with my mailing
list and having been burning the midnight oil- organizing. Nafeez
Ahmed's brilliant book The War on Freedom,
http://waronfreedom.mediamonitors.net/index.html, was published in
July. When the Stanford University Bookstore couldn't even find it
in their computer system, I realized that it needed some help and
worked to get it into the bookstores and to organize speaking events
for the author. (My book review is posted at-
http://www.communitycurrency.org/Review.html). In addition, I have
been organizing weekly demos, a demo against General Myers, working
on documentary films on 9-11, working with
http://www.UnansweredQuestions.org on an event in NY, not to mention
the kids, etc...

The situation keeps changing daily, Nafeez has cancelled his trip
to California (his wife just had a baby and hasn't fully recovered-
he needs to be with her), Guerrilla News Network is trying to wrap up
their 15 minute 9-11 documentary in time for 9-11 events in NY,
Oakland and San Francisco. We're trying to install the equipment so
that Nafeez can join us via the Internet at the 9/11/02 event in San
Francisco (If you want to come- please RSVP go to
http://www.favors.org > Events > Sep 11). The good news is KPFK did
an interview with Nafeez and his book was the most popular item on
their fund drive (they ordered 720 books!). I truly think if people
heard him and read what he has written, we could hold the Criminals
in power responsible for their crimes against this country and
humanity.

Time to get to my weekly demo, but here are the listings of our
upcoming 9-11 related events:

The War on Freedom- How and Why America was Attacked
September 11, 2001 (or “Bush Did It!”)

The official version of what happened on September 11th is being
questioned throughout the country and the world. The “limited” Joint
Senate House Intelligence Oversight Committee Inquiry has raised more
questions than it has answered. The Administration’s alibi for
failing to prevent the attacks has fallen apart in light of
revelations of foreknowledge and forewarnings. Books challenging the
official story have been translated and published into English, and
the new book- The War on Freedom,
(http://waronfreedom.mediamonitors.net/index.html),best documents the
complicity of the Bush Administration, and the need for an immediate,
independent inquiry of the events of 9-11. Events are planned to
raise consciousness and to stop the Administration from expanding a
War of Terrorism at home and abroad. Here are some of the events
being held in the Bay Area:

Librarians for Intellectual Freedom will present a free
screening of the video: "9-11 And The Public Safety: Seeking Answers
and Accountability" on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at
the Richmond Public Library’s Madeline F. Whittlesey Community Room,
325 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond (NW corner of 27th & Macdonald, at
the south end of the library). The video is a record of the press
conference given at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. on
June 10, 2002 by http://www.UnansweredQuestions.org. The conference
was presented by leading investigative journalists, law firms
representing families of victims of 9-11, and the family members
themselves.

      On Saturday, September 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. the All People’s
Coalition has called for a “Bush Did It!” Rally at GG Park Panhandle
Baker, Fell & Oak and March through Haight Street to arrive at noon
at the “4th Annual 911 Power to the Peaceful Festival” Michael
Franti, Spearhead and Guerrilla Management Collective free concert

topic of a public forum featuring John Leonard, publisher of the War
on Freedom, Carol Brouillet, W.I.L.P.F. member who organized a march

9-11, and journalist, Joyce Lynn. Sponsored by the All People's
Coalition
